In 2010 the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame was established to recognize players who contributed to the game of baseball. Headquartered in the Dominican Republic, it started with 24 players who made their mark in international baseball leagues. On February 11th 2012, the Salón de la Fama del Beisbol Latino will hold its third induction ceremony at the Altos de Chavón in the Dominican Republic to commemorate the careers of their latest inductees.

September 2011, six veteran and six contemporary players were selected for their talents on the field. The Latino Baseball Hall of Fame uses 1959 as the dividing line to determine eras for veteran and contemporary players — with one player selected from each category to represent Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico and Venezuela.

VoteTonyO exhibited at TwinsFest 2012 January 27th-29th. This was our first attempt at exhibiting and it went great! We passed out limited edition Tony Oliva baseball cards, collected email address for people who wanted to join Tony’s Team, and sold VoteTonyO t-shirts. Tony stopped by the booth each day and surprised fans by signing their VoteTonyO t-shirts. After the show, we randomly drew 6 names out of the people who signed up to join Tony’s Team. They each received a personalized Tony Oliva autographed baseball. It was so great to meet so many Twins fans and Tony O fans. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
